Jan en To
Jan en To (Dutch: Jan and To) is an observational documentary about my grandparents, Jan and To Molenaar, as they experience living with Alzheimer’s within the private home. From a reflexive home-movie perspective the film shows the tender and loving relationship of Jan and To as they navigate caregiving and -receiving. Jan en To shows a personal account of a medical condition and comes into direct conversation with notions of access and consent within the familial setting, and with the ethical implications of the documentary medium at large, especially when applied to subjects in compromised states.
